Prayer of one going to war

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Mother of God, Heavenly Queen, I, Your servant (name), turn to You as my one Advocate, Protectress, and Comforter: give me strength to overcome the enemy by fire and by sword! Most merciful Lord, give me Your precious and life-giving Cross to drive away every enemy and adversary.

Raise up to my aid the whole host of heaven — the Angels and Archangels led by the Archangel of God Michael — may they cover Your servant with the shelter of their wings, shield me from every fear, from fire, from the sword, from the darkening of hatred, from every assault and from all the attacks of the wicked. Lord, send me legions of Your Angels to help drive away the enemies who have attacked us, and send fear, confusion, and panic upon our adversaries, and turn their strength to weakness, and render their weapons harmless!

Bless my hands for battle and strengthen them, fortify my body and free it from every illness, weakness, and infirmity, both physical and spiritual, that I may be strong, brave, and confident of my victory. May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself shield me, and His Mother, the Heavenly Queen, and the holy Angels, Archangels, and especially the Archangel of God Michael, the fearsome commander of the holy Heavenly Powers, crusher of demons. Lord, destroy my adversaries; may all our visible and invisible enemies vanish and perish like ash and dust before the breath of the wind! Holy Great Martyr and Victor George, holy martyrs and passion-bearers Boris and Gleb, holy venerable fathers of the Kyiv Caves and holy new martyrs of Ukraine, come to my aid, that I may be defended by your holy prayers!

Most merciful Lord, hear the supplication of me, Your servant (name), and send hosts of demons to darken the eyes and minds of our enemies; stir up strife among them, that they may destroy one another, while I, Your servant, pass through fire and water and remain unharmed by fire, by sword, by an arrow flying at me, by drowning in water, by weapons from the air, or by any danger lying in wait for me. May I be preserved by Jesus Christ Himself and the Heavenly Queen, His Mother, and all the Heavenly Powers, and my holy guardian angel, who is always present beside me.

AMEN
